The obituary notice of Derek MCCABE

Newcastle Upon Tyne | Published in: Evening Chronicle.

Change notice background image
DerekMCCABEWideopen Derek passed away peacefully at home on Saturday April 28th, surrounded by his family, following a short battle with cancer. He approached every part of his life - as a husband to Jeanne, father to Nick and Lucy, father in law to Dave and Heather, grandfather to Cameron, Sofia, Max and Lola, brother, uncle, friend, musician, aviator, golfer, trade union negotiator, magistrate, arbitrator and legendary party thrower - with the same level of dedication, love and enthusiasm. Family and friends are invited to join us for a service at West Road Crematorium at 3pm on Wednesday May 9th, followed by a Celebration of Life. Derek received an incredible level of care from Newcastle's NHS hospitals and services, so in lieu of flowers we believe he would have wanted to see donations given to support the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation via the Newcastle Hospitals NHS Charity at justgiving.com/fundraising/derekmccabe
