I look over my fence towards his greenhouse, the greenhouse next door and he’s not there, I’ve been looking and seeing him for years .
Always a smile and the time for a chat, comparing plants and ideas.
We went to Scotland to find a Loch for Linda and a Puffin for Phil , we found them and spent lots of time around gardens , Cliff edges looking at birds and the over to the Orkneys, to a group of Standing Stones where he decided to play hide and seek around them really acting his age. Then on the train to Glenfinnan Viaduct to watch the Express Train go thundering across just like Harry Potter, all that climbing just to get in the right position for the Train thundering across the Viaduct, but it was worth every minute to see that train a moment that il never forget, Thanks Phil

What a shock; I look across the fence towards his greenhouse and I am never going to see his smiling face again.

We’ve been neighbours for years, been all around Scotland and the Orkneys; we’ve searched high and low for puffins, visited National Trust gardens and shared our love of gardening.

Tomato and cucumber plants—we both grew them trying to find the best type of small, sweet tomatoes and tasty cucumbers. He always seemed to find something different like his peppers; wow, did they grow well and taste good.

We’re really going to miss you, Phil; can you just keep watch over my plants? Thinking of you, Beryl and Terry.

So sorry to hear the sad news, we will miss Phil’s dry sense of humour and many laughs and stories we shared over a pint or two. Thinking of you all, God bless Ian & Jackie
