Wendy LorraineMAYERSof Whitewell Bottom, Rossendale, born January 10, 1963, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22 at Blackburn Royal Hospital, aged 62 years, held tightly by her three loving daughters.
She was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend whose love of life and family touched all who knew her. Wendy was born to James and Sheila Halsall at Primrose Bank, Stacksteads. From a young age, she was known for her warm personality and vibrant spirit.
After leaving school, she began her career working at Valley Supply and later dedicated nearly three decades as a senior care assistant at Heightside Nursing Home, caring dearly for others. In 1981, she married Alan and together they had three daughters: Claire, Kirsty and Lauren. Wendy's unwavering love and devotion to her family remained her greatest joy.
Her life was marked by her passion for her family, her caring nature and her infectious enthusiasm for life. Wendy was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Sheila. She is survived by her daughters, Claire, Kirsty and Lauren and their partners, Ashley and Brodie; grandson Deacon; father James; brothers and sisters: Chris, Denise, Andrew and his wife Gail, James and his wife Nicola, Martin, Christine and her husband Paul, Julie and her partner Wayne and Rachel; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Her funeral is due to take place on Friday, November 14, when A celebration of Wendy's life will be held at St. Anne's Church at 10.45am, followed by a service at Burnley Crematorium at 12.15pm both led by the Rev Samuel Hameem.
After the service the family invites friends and loved ones to join them at The Roebuck, Waterfoot, from 1pm onwards for a heartfelt gathering- sharing memories and raising a glass in her honour. "Love never fails." In accordance with her wishes.
