Dorothy was a lovely kind person who would go out of her way to help anyone. A long time ago when I was only 14yrs old, we were neighbours and I was preparing to do an entry exam at The Pricing Bureau where Dorothy worked, she gave me maths homework for a few weeks before the exam so I would have an idea of what I might expect in the exam.
It helped me a great deal, I got a job there and all my working life the jobs I had were all working with numbers.
I appreciate the time Dorothy gave me which really shaped my career path. RIP

lovely lady , so many good memories , one story in particular ...
many many years ago I rang Julie at home , her dad said ` sorry she is not in , she is on the valley with her mam` , NOW baring in mond I came from ashington and had NO knowledge of Gateshead or any place south of the Tyne I decided to ask my Mam ` Mam = what does ` On the Valley ` mean , my mam and dad had no idea ,my dad asked around at the local club that night - no explanations !! , the only suggestion was perhaps it was a local brew or wine that they would drink together in secret ., time went on and I mean YEARS later I asked Julie one day : did you do anything special at the weekend ? , no not really she replies just went on the valley with my mam ....... xxxxx
