GeorgeLEUNG K FIt is with great sadness that we announce the loss of George, former Proprietor of the renowned Lotus Garden Restaurant, Cheltenham who left us suddenly on March 30th aged 87. Coming to the UK from Hong Kong in the early 60's George ran the Lotus Garden until 1980 when he moved his family from Battledown Cheltenham to Miami, Florida. George was highly respected by many loyal customers, some coming from as far as the Home Counties to experience the ultimate service, ambience and delicious food, also doing business with the Dowty Group to provide banqueting for visiting Chinese dignitaries. He leaves devoted wife Jane, much loved sons Ben and James, precious daughter Jessica, daughter-in-law Julie, son-in-law Peter and beloved grandsons Joseph and Dominic who all take comfort in knowing he is now with their most precious and beloved eldest brother, his eldest son Simon, who died of leukaemia in 2022 but has now welcomed him to Heaven to share eternal peace and happiness.
A Memorial will be held in the United States.
