Mark,
we are writing this to you because death has ended the chance for us to talk, but it cannot end our love for you. For the years, you walked this earth, and for all those years, we carried you in my thoughts. The adult world is complicated. Fractured relationships built a wall between us. It brings me so much sadness to look back at your childhood and know we didn't get to meet or spend time together while you were growing up. We missed watching you discover the world, and we missed the chance to be a part of your life. We want you to know that the silence between us was never because you weren't wanted. It was the painful result of a broken realtionships that neither you or we choose, and that I could not fix. We grieve for the man you became that we never got to see. We often wondered about your laugh, your dreams, your struggles, and your triumphs. It hurts deeply to know your story ended right in your prime, before time could grant us a path back to each other.T
Today, we are letting go of the anger regarding the lost opportunities. We are choosing instead to hold onto the pure connection of our blood. You belonged to the Fieldsend family, Mark, always have and always will. No human decision can ever change the fact that you were our nephew, and you were loved. You are free now from the complex tangles of this world.
Rest peacefully, away from the hurt and the barriers.
You are known to us now in a way that distance can no longer touch.
With all our love and a quiet heart,
Gillian, Dawn and Gail x x x
