Watched the northern lights in the sky tonight, a beautiful sight. Harry would have loved it. A great friend and mentor. Thanks Harry for always being there when you were needed the most and imparting your gift of wisdom.

I googled my old friend today after reading about major progress with nuclear fusion, something Harry told me back in 1978 was the future for our energy needs. So sad to hear of his passing, he single-handedly sorted out my attitude, my psyche and my career. We lost touch in the 80's but I have never forgotten him and all that he did for me. Rest in peace my friend, you will be fondly remembered by so many.

So many stories to tell about Harry. One of the first people I met on the first day I was at the Polytechnic in September 1974. My introduction to malt whiskey. When is the memorial?

We lost touch over the years, but Harry was a great friend to me whilst an undergraduate - when I really needed a friend. Thanks Harry. RIP

I am deeply saddened by Harry's passing. He was a wonderful person and an inspirational teacher. He inspired me with his teachings on physics and cosmology. Thank you Harry for all you have given me. May you rest in peace.

Sad to hear that Harry has passed away. He was a great help to me and a loyal friend and comrade, great company and good to work with. His work with the Staff Union was prolific and dedicated. His work in the bar was equally impressive! I'm very glad to have known him. Rest easy now, brother.
