DorothyKESZLEROn August 3, Dorothy Keszler of Accrington suddenly passed away at her care home, aged 98 years. The dearly beloved wife of the late Maurice, much loved sister of the late Margaret, the late Emma and the late Tom. Much loved mum of Lynne, Kathryn, Andrew and Nicholas and partners Raymond, Michael, Wendy and Kari. Cherished grandma of Damon, Marnie, David, Joanne, Nikola, David and the late Nicola. Great-grandma to Shauna, Crystal, Elsa, Albee, Abigail, Tom, Milo, Ana and Eida. A great-great-grandma to Myla. Lovingly remembered by Rachel, Chris and their children Isaac and Matilda. She loved and was very proud of her family, she even named them her ‘little chickens’. Dorothy spent her working life as a GP Surgery Practice Manager and retired when she was 80 years old. She and Maurice enjoyed trips to Hungary, Czech Republic and America to see her son Nicholas who lives in San Diego. Her husband Maurice sadly passed away in 2004, but that didn’t stop her love for travelling. Dorothy went off on her own to a safari holiday at the tender age of 80, stayed in a lodge in the wild and fulfilled her lifelong dream of seeing wild animals in their gorgeous habitat and roaming free. In her later years she would enjoy reading the daily newspaper, watching her soaps on TV and would always complete the daily crossword no matter how difficult it was, she also had quite a skill for mathematics too. Dorothy spent her last months in Abbeyfield Care Home, Clitheroe, she was well loved by all, even when regularly speaking her mind, letting anyone know if they didn’t look their best. She will be remembered fondly with love and will be missed by all that knew her. A service and cremation will be held on Tuesday, August 15 at Accrington Crematorium at 11am. Family flowers only please, donations in memory of Dorothy are being gratefully received on behalf of Prostate Cancer c/o champfunerals.com/obituaries.
