Leith ManningKASSIERIt is with great sadness that the family of Mrs Leith Kassier announces her passing after a short illness on 1st December 2023 at the age of 76. Leith passed away peacefully in Derriford Hospital and will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 50 years Hans, her sons Rafael and Sebastian and her two grandchildren Nina and Max. Leith was well-known in the area as a piano and music teacher since the early 80s, giving young people an appreciation of music and guiding numerous pianists through to an advanced level. She also worked tirelessly throughout her life for her chosen charity, to help young mothers and families. Born to an English family in South Africa, Leith was a passionate traveller and eternal student. She travelled throughout Europe, America, Africa and New Zealand while continuing her studies of music, art, theatre, history and geology. She found her spiritual home in Cornwall where she settled for 41 years. The cremation service will be held at Weston Mill Cemetery, Plymouth at 2pm on Friday 15th December. All are welcome to attend. Charitable donations should be directed to La Leche League East Cornwall & Plymouth Group.
