DavidISHERWOODof Broading House, Loveclough passed away at home with his immediate family by his side on September 3, aged 75 years. David trained as an accountant, he worked for a short time at Rossendale Groundwork before taking over the family firm - Isherwoods Furnishers. David enjoyed travelling, especially train, food, adventure, music and fun! He had a heart for others and combined travel with support and encouraged to others in Italy, Sri Lanka and Albania. After becoming a Christian in his mid teens, David was involved as a local preacher, deacon and treasurer of Kay Street Baptist Church and ‘Open The Book’ a project taking Bible stories into local schools. When Ukrainians came to The Valley and it was pointed out to him that they would value a meeting place, David started one which continues to the day. Tuesday’s at Kay Street at 4pm. David leaves his wife Di, daughter Kathryn, son William, grandchildren Tomas, Amelie and Edith. A funeral will be held on Friday, September 15 at Kay Street Baptist Church at 10.30am, conducted by Reverend Jonny Hirst, followed by a cremation. Donations to the Bible Society or Prostate Cancer Research UK.
