So sad to read of Terry’s passing. He was a firm pal of mine when we were youngsters. He lived on Oldfield Rd and I lived on Pottery Bank. We were in the same class together at Wharrier St School.
I well remember going each Saturday afternoon to Walker Baths. We would be in there all afternoon and leave with red rimmed eyes, but it was great fun! We spent hours down by the Tyne and generally around the streets. It was a great time but my family moved away from Pottery Bank in 1962 and I lost touch with Terry. I often wondered, over the years, how things had gone for him. I’m so pleased he had a good life.
Just to add, when I knew Terry he had a street name used by local kids! To us at that time he was ‘Chiv’!
Rest in Peace Terry!
Your old pal Billy Anderson.
