Jackie and Ian. It was my privilege to be accepted as your son-in-law for the twenty plus years we enjoyed creating many and happy memories from my marriage to your eldest daughter Kim to the arrival of our fine sons and your first grandchildren Miles and Farrell. Your youngest Vicky was next to delight us all with two more beautiful grandchildren Blake and Thea. I recall both your great pride, love and happiness imbued by these wonderful events. Jackie the small but strong matriarch and Ian the solid but reserved elder statesman. Sometimes I would liken yourselves to the very funniest sitcom characters. But only in the most endearing way. It was a mark of pride for me seeing birthday and Christmas cards signed “ Mum and Dad”. My lovely “ surrogate” parents. I would’ve done anything for you and I often told Kim so. My only regret was not taking a firmer hand with your health matters, but high handedness would have seemed disrespectful. Jackie you were the gifted cook and ( mostly) the leader. Ian you, the worrier, grafter and Hull City stalwart. Retreating to a quiet room with your radio, to support your beloved
“ Tigers”. Your kindness, support and love will live long in my heart. And I miss you both deeply and enduringly. May your eternal souls find their final place in Heaven amongst those so deservedly judged and blessed at the end of time.
Your loving and heartbroken
son-in-law Dexter 💕
