ColinHUGHES(Colin Gardd Fôn) Peacefully at Glan Clwyd 2 January 2024 (of Winchester Drive Prestatyn).

Treasured son of the late Robert John and Mary Ann Hughes of Trem Elidir Bangor. Beloved husband of Myra, and dear brother in law of David and Geraldine.

Well known throughout North Wales, a larger than Life "character" who was a much loved and respected horse racing fan, a staunch Bangor City Football Club supporter and member of Bangor Social Club. Colin was instantly recognisable by his luxuriant grey hair, his always cheerful disposition, and his many years at the Gardd Fôn and Boatyard Inn.

Fittingly Colin died after attending the "Last Farewell" race meeting at Haydock on 30th December 2023. The horse Colin jointly owned won the first race and Colin was delighted to be in the winner's enclosure for the prizegiving!

A celebratory funeral service will be held at St Bridget's Church, Dyserth on Wednesday 24th January at 12 noon, followed by a cremation at Bangor Crematorium at 2:30pm, recognising that the weather and distance may not make it sensible to attend both locations refreshments will be provided at each.

A collection in memory of Colin will be made for the injured Jockeys Fund and Bangor 1876 Football Club. Donations via the Funeral Directors please.

No dark clothes at Colin's request.
