DeryckHUDSONDeryck was a kind and loving father, grandfather, brother, friend and uncle.

Born near Leeds and grew up in Manchester. He had a keen interest in vintage transport and enjoyed watching various sports. He made his way up in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers within the Army in his younger years before moving on to other roles, lastly as a Head Porter for Macclesfield Town Hall. He then went on to volunteer at Macclesfield Salvation Army coffee mornings and enjoyed perusing the local charity shops and attending air shows. His cheerful spirit will be hugely missed.

For anyone who knew him and would like to pay their respects, his funeral will be held at Macclesfield Crematorium, May 8th at 10.45am.

I had the pleasure of meeting & spending some time with Deryck over the past year. I shared his love of planes & also of his granddaughter Fern- she was the reason I was able to serendipitously cross paths with him.

I’m so thankful, as it meant I got to be in the presence of his curiosity and openness to life and my partner and I also got to hear of his fascinating life.

Cheers to Deryck. To his cheekiness, to the fountain of such wisdom and knowledge and to whom I’ve seen first hand the imprint he’s left on people’s hearts.
