George taught me Ancient Greek for several years starting in 2018 and I cherished those lessons hugely. He was a fantastic teacher. a real character and a lovely man. I am now doing a Classical Stufies degree with the OU thanks to him.

George taught my late husband ( then in his eighties) Classical Greek and I used to hear them laughing at some Ancient Greek story George would recount. A dear man .

GEORGE (SIR)!
YOU were the best teacher I ever had at any educational institution from school, to the universities I went to. You took a subject I was already interested in: the ancient history of Greece and Rome and made it better!
Ancient History & mythology, Roman Britain, & Latin just won't be the same without you!
