Anthony JohnHOOPERTony died peacefully at his home of 46 years on January 25th, aged 86. For many years, the manager of Lloyds Bank in Gloucester, later Treasurer of the Friends of Gloucester Cathedral, and a passionate supporter of Gloucester Rugby. Adored by his children, Lucy and Andrew, grandchildren, Sam, Alfie and Aggie, and his wife of 58 years, Rosalie. A wonderful friend, colleague and neighbour, he will be missed by so many.

I orinally met Tony at the Union Pub in Westgate Street in early 1981. In those days this venue was a magnet for most of the business and professional people in the City to enjoy the excellent food and real ale. His family moved in to the same cul de sac as me a few years later and became close friends and neighbours. Such a lovely man with a great sense of humour and I will miss him.

Rest in Peace Tony enjoyed our chats in my front garden in Bondend Road when you were on your walk. Also our chats at Cotswold Hills Golf Club.
