MaureenHOLMESIt is with great sadness the family of the late Maureen Holmes 'Mo' have asked us to announce her passing.

Mo was the landlady of The Saddle Pub Inn on Fountains Road, her dad, Bobby Lee, was the landlord before Mo and her brother and sisters took it over. Bobby Lee would put a bet on the horses every day, £10 double 2nd FAP on the last two races, and even after he passed Mo continued to do that for Bobby Lee every day.

Mo met her husband, Richard in the pub when she worked behind the bar, together they had their son Anthony.

Mo loved the bingo and went every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with her friend Pat, and if they won, they would always split their winnings.

Mo was such a generous lady, but she never suffered fools, she was fair but firm and very straight forward talking. When Mo's dad passed away, although she didn't like dogs, she bought herself a little dog called Loui for comfort and company.

Mo sadly passed away Wednesday 27th August 2025 aged 63, leaving behind her broken hearted friends and family.

Mo's final farewell journey will take place Thursday 18th September for 12:30pm at St John's Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Fountains Road L4 1QL.

The family have asked for family flowers only please, but donations in Mo's memory can be made to Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.

All enquiries can be made to Butterflies Rising Funeral Care 37-39 Mill Lane Liverpool L12 7HY 0151 345-4340

Sending deepest condolences to all the family on the passing of Maureen. It was such a shock to the Murray family that Maureen had passed away. We have very fond and great memories of growing up in Sessions Road and The Saddle pub at the top of the street. I remember some great times in The Saddle with the lovely Lee family ❤️
R.I.P Maureen 💔
