KathleenHOLDERHappy Birthday - 29th July 2025
Dearest cousin, Kathleen you died unexpectedly before Mother's Day and Easter this year. You were always a treasured Second Mother to me and will be remembered in respect on Mother's Day. Family respect and duty were always important aspects for you so I hope I did you proud, both in your later years and after you died.
This is a personal tribute to: the deceased Kathleen Holder: my second mother but I will also honour her with being the Motherless, mother of Normanton, Derby. All persons' whom miss you and loved you I am sure would honour you with this title. Mother nature used your body as a host to: volunteer, nurture, care and harness your natural skills to help others within the Derby community.
Mrs. Kathleen Holder, I cannot speak of what you have done for others, I can only speak of what you have done for me. 'Mothering Sunday', evolved for someone like you. That is why I decided to ensure you received from me personally: flowers, Mother's Day cards and other presents.
You have worked hard all your life from 14 years old and I will never forget how tears swelled in your eyes when you told me how your mother would not let you finish your schooling education.
But you had the education of life. so wise so knowledgeable, you learnt and you taught. Those of us who listened and took heed are better for it.
Rest in Peace, Kathleen Holder and be with your husband Bruce. Continue your role on the other side including keeping both Roy and George inline as you did in this world; as you would tell me many times you were more their 'motherless mother' than their own mother, my grandmother Iris.
With love, honour and devoted respect, goodbye. xxx.
(My favourite cousin and my chosen Second Mother, always). Charmaine Barrett.
