Raymond MaxwellHOLDENRaymond “Ray” Maxwell Holden died on 3rd January 2025 in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, aged 82. Born 22nd August, 1942 in Warwick to Mary Ryan, an Irish munitions worker (who named him Gerard). He was adopted and raised by Albert and Vera Kate Holden.
Ray was a caring and generous person and later in life gave much of his time to volunteering at Our Place King's Norton and was Company Secretary. He loved nature – particularly birds – and gardening. Ray was an avid reader, and listener of folk and country music. He was older brother to the late Jenny Mann and is survived by his daughters Sophie and Nathalie, and nephews Neville and Darren Mann. Ray was much loved and will be greatly missed.
Funeral Service at 11am, Waseley Hills Crematorium, on 31st January. All welcome to join us in Kings Norton afterwards to celebrate Ray's life. Donations to RSPB.
