Sapphire Blue
Those twinkling, blue eyes
And wide, cheeky grin,
That tinkling laugh
And boy, could you sing!
Those chats we shared daily
At a quarter to two,
Are so precious now in my memories of you.
And during those chats
I really discovered
So much more about you
And you life, was uncovered.
You told me your history,
Your joy and your pain,
Your life story in detail.
Oh, to do that again!
And what was revealed
Was a woman who'd lived,
Such a life to the full.
You had so much to give.
You were daughter,sister,
Nurse, Mum, Nana and wife,
Dedicating yourself to all Throughout your whole life.
You were loving, kind,funny
And sometimes a bit naughty,
You were patient, you listened,
Super polite and quite sporty.
Your main regrets in life
Fortunately, were few.
Not driving and fear of Maths
Were really the main two.
You taught me to dance,
You taught me to sing,
You taught me to garden,
Taught me everything.
So this little poem that
I've written for you
Is just to say thank you
For just being you.
And whenever I see
the sky is sapphire blue,
I'll look to the heavens, Mum
And thank God for you.
You used to start your phone calls with," Hello,Dawn! It's only me!"
You ended them with, " Love you! Bye for now!"
So, I'd like to say that I love you and our parting is just " Bye for now".
Love you forever,
Dawn.
