You have been a lifelong friend, some of the best times of my life have been in your company especially in the highlands of Scotland. Your knowledge of wildlife is unsurpassed in my opinion, I have learned so much from you in all these years. I will always miss you, you don’t know how much x

As you know Michael was a much loved member of our family and I’m sure he will be missed every day - but when I read all the messages and tributes you have left I realise how well loved and respected he was amongst his friends and colleagues. So thank you all from the bottom of my heart and I’m sure he’s sat in the cottage in Scotland around a blazing fire reading them all!
Lots of love from his Mum.
