Very sadly missed, a top chap, a real Gentleman

I would like to send my condolences to all Gaps' family and friends. Gaps always struck me as a gentle man and he will be greatly missed. It was part of the 2 Tone scene that The Selecter, Madness, The Beat, The Specials and UB40 all had a second singer/dancer who played a central role bouncing off and complementing the performances of the other members. Gaps was no exception, everyone in those bands played an important role which helped the bands reflect the whole community. I will always be very grateful for the brief time I played with Gaps, Aitch and Charlie in Hard Top 22 before the birth of 2 Tone (see photo). I probably learned more about how to play reggae in those few gigs than at any other time. Thanks Gaps. Jerry Dammers

Cancer research deserves as much of our support as possible

Am sending my deepest condolences to Helen (one of my closest friends) and family. Gaps was a legend in the every sense of the word. He will be sorely missed by both friends and family. Wishing you all a great day, sorry I can't be there but will be watching.
