Baby Julia became very unwell and admitted to hospital.
Parents weren’t allowed to stay with her. She died 9 January at just over 3 weeks old of staphylococcal Pneumonia and Pericarditis.(post-mortem)
Dad was in the Navy at war and must have had time off to come home and register her birth the following day.
However, he must have been recalled back to ship as mum registered her death.
I have been told it was the only time our dad cried, carrying a very small white coffin to be buried with our late grandfather at Witton.

I meant to post this yesterday- apologies.
In remembrance of our eldest sister born on 16 December 1943 Julia.
What an awful Christmas our parents must have had.
