SusanHAWARDENof Laburnum Road, Helmshore, died at the Royal Blackburn Hospital on July 26, aged 60 years.
Susan was an administrative assistant at Jacobson Group Footwear, Cloughfold. Still employed, but had been on long-term leave of absence due to illness.
Sue was a fantastic grandma and loving mum. Her vast horticultural knowledge and skill transformed her home surroundings into natural beauty.
She loved hiking, particularly in the North Lakes (where she and Jeff shared a holiday home with family) and Scotland. She was an excellent map reader, fell walker and enjoyed visiting historical sites. When not outdoors she loved to play geeky games, do quizzes (at which she excelled!) and listen to rock music.
Susan was very active in gardening, including membership of RHS amongst many other interests. She leaves behind her husband Jeff Hawarden, children Michael Howe and Carly Howe, grandchildren Reuben Howe, Seth Howe, Layla Hay and Luca Hay.
A funeral service will take place on Monday, August 10, leaving Hamers at 12.30pm for Accrington Crematorium at 1pm. Conducted - Celebrant Kathy Unsworth.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Pendleside Hospice (in memory of Sue's dad) or to Civic Pride Rossendale.
