I remember talking to Andrew, a few years ago, when he said ‘we have been really lucky with our Mam and Dad’. Truer words were never spoken. We were lucky and there was not a day went by that I did not appreciate you or try to spend time with you. I am so thankful I got to be with you for 63 years.

I look at the photo of you both here, smiling at me, and it brings me great comfort as it reminds me of all those memories we share, lovely family times.

Thank you Mam for being you, we will always miss you but are thankful for all the fun times we had together. I know you are with Dad now, where you belong and still watching over us.

Love you forever.

Written in Mum's notebook:

"Unseen, unheard
you are always near
Still loved and missed
So very dear."

From the poem:

Those We Love
Author Unknown

Those we love don't go away;
They walk beside us every day.

Unseen, unheard but always near.
Sill loved, still missed, and very dear.

Wishing us hope in the midst of sorrow,
Offering comfort in the midst of pain, both today and tomorrow.

Found handwritten in a notebook of my Mum's...

A Gardeners' Last Wish, Joyce Fothergill

A Gardener’s Last Wish
by Joyce Fothergill
Don’t carry me off in a brass-handled coffin
With a wreath on my chest I won’t be ‘at rest’

There’s nothing much worse than a ride in a hearse
To a hole in the ground with just strangers around

No! bury me deep in the compost heap
Or pop me right under a nice floribunda

Its really much wiser to become fertiliser
Then I can grow roses as I decomposes.
