George was my uncle. In the late 1960s he and Margaret his then wife and their four children gave me a home, as my parents farmed in Kenya, in their lovely old vicarage in Doveridge, Derbyshire. He had faith in my abilities and encouraged me with 'You show them what you can do', to study A-Levels at the technical college in Derby, now a university. I went on to teacher training and had challenging wonderful career in teaching in London from the early 70s, first at Chiswick Comprehensive and then at Godolphin and Latymer. I am ever grateful for their generosity and instigation.
