Stanley JamesGUNNERGUNNER. - Stanley James (1924-2008). On Thursday 24 January 2008 at St Christopher's Hospice, Sydenham. Beloved Husband of Margaret Elaine Gunner (Midge), Brother, Uncle, Great-Uncle and Great-great-Uncle, known to so many as their favourite "Uncle Stan", veteran of the 1st Battalion, Queen's Royal regiment of the XIVth "forgotten army" who served in the Burma Campaign, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a short illness. He will be sadly missed by all were fortunate enough to have known him. - Family Funeral at West Chapel, Croydon Crematorium, Mitcham Road at 3.15pm on Tuesday 12 February 2008. Floral tributes welcome or kind donations to St Christopher's Hospice c/o Rowland Brothers, Whitehorse Road, Croydon.

Before my dad Philip Swan passed away in 2009 he spoke about Stan in Burma as being a friend. Suddenly I thought with the internet I might find him now although too late. I hope my dad found Stan in heaven RIP both
