AnthonyGRUNDYMr Anthony Grundy, known as Tony, died peacefully at home on Saturday, April 17, aged 86, with all his loving family around him. The dearly loved husband of Margaret for 68 years, a loving devoted dad of Christine and Michael, father-in-law of Charlie, adored grandad of Lyndsay, Darran, and Emma, great-grandad of Niall, Ruby, Zach, and Evie, special cousin of Monica and Frank. Tony left school at 15 and served his time as an engineer at Lang Bridges, then went into the Army for two years, and got a job where he worked at home and abroad. Tony always liked to keep busy and enjoyed gardening. He was very caring and thoughtful, and well liked by all. Always out to help other people, he had a heart of gold. We would like to thank the district nurses and Macmillan nurses, also Mel and Catherine - special nurses for their wonderful care. The funeral will take place on Friday, April 30, at 2.20pm at Accrington Crematorium. Family flowers only please; because of his love of animals donations to RSPCA. Funeral director: Co-op Funeralcare, 32 Colne Road, Burnley

I met Tony when he was fitting Casablanca rollers on the ring frames at Stanhill Ring Mill in the mid to late 1970’s . I helped out as a labourer. A very decent and genuine man , who always had time to advise and help whenever he could. Rest in Peace
