My earliest memory of you was when I was about 6, you had come to my house with my Dad on easter. I remember sitting on your lap as you promised to buy me a big boys bike. I never forgot the feeling of love you gave that day. How I wish we could go back and could have spent more time with you. Thank you for making me feel like I belonged when I felt I didn't. Im going to miss you dearly Grandad.

A Tribute to Grandad 🕊️🤍

Grandad (or as I used to call you as a little girl…. Popeye) - Where do I possibly begin because I don’t think words are enough and that they should end. Just like how I’ve learnt that even when our time is over, it isn’t the end because the love doesn’t go away, it just leaves an empty space where I wish you could have stayed. You were my only true grandparent in my life and my gosh isn’t that something to cherish! However, it feels like this inescapable void now that can and will never be filled. All I know is when life was impossibly hard for me as a young kid, I know you were there. The realisation of this hits harder now you’re gone because of the impact you had on my life. I’m now trying to remember all those good times, trying to play them all back, when all I want to do is to relive them to have more time with you. However, that isn’t something that can happen and it breaks my heart. I don’t know where I’m going with this, but you showed up for a little girl and held her hand throughout times she didn’t know she really needed them. You were a comfort blanket, a security, the safe place every little girl deserves. You will and always will be that for me. I’ll miss you forever and I’ll love you always. Rest easy now up in the sky with your loved ones and one day we’ll all be reunited and reminisce about this life and the next. Forever my safe haven, always my Popeye.
