Gradually, you will learn acquaintance
With the invisible form of your departed;
And when the work of grief is done,
The wound of loss will heal
And you will have learned
To wean your eyes
From that gap in the air
And be able to enter the hearth
In your soul where your loved one
Has awaited your return
All the time.

We will carry you in our hearts always. Brendan & Bernie

Dad was a man of strength, dedication with a great heart - a man who found joy in both work and play. He loved to work, not just because it kept him busy, but because it gave him a sense of purpose and pride in what he did. Whether he was focussed on a project, helping a colleague or simply doing what needed to be done, he gave his all quietly and with integrity.

But work was only part of who he was. He also loved to go horse riding, a passion that brought dad real happiness and joy. He loved the peaceful feeling that came with every ride. I remember how his face would light up when he talked about a certain ride or horse that surprised him on a certain day. Those moments were an expression of dads spirit, his love of life, and his appreciation for simple joys.

And then there was football. Whether it was watching Huddersfield Town or talking about the latest results, football was something that connected him to family and friends a shared passion that brought laughter and excitement to all in his company.

But above all else dad loved his family. He was devoted to us in both big and the small things . He taught us what is was to be committed to work hard and love deeply in our own family that we have. Dad showed us that life is not just about achievements but how you show up to the people you care about. I know dad would want us to remember the laughter and mickey taking he brought into our lives, the strength he showed us by living his life with honesty and warmth.

RIP Dad Love you

Joseph Griffin
