LeoGIRGANGIRGAN Losing Leo has been very, very hard and Betty, Morag, Derek, Anne and John would like to thank you all for your flowers, thoughts and words of comfort and sympathy. Our thanks to the family doctor and all the nursing staff at Kirkcudbright Hospital and all the doctors and nursing staff at DGRI for their unfailing and wonderful efforts on behalf of Leo over the years and especially the last few months. David Nicholls of the Social Welfare Department deserves a special mention and thanks for his understanding of the situation and all he did to get the Leo the care he needed from Spectrum. The love, care and attention he got from the 'girls' at Spectrum went way beyond the call of duty and words cannot express how grateful we are to all of them. The Occupational Therapy and Physio Departments were also involved in Leo's care and they too deserve thanks. We are also extremely grateful to David Mitchell and the Rev. Douglas Irving who guided us through the traumatic days as, without them, we would have floundered. Their strength and support was wonderful and invaluable. We also thank Angus Dick, the organist, a truly gifted musician, who said it all in music, The Selkirk Arms Hotel put on an excellent reception, and provided the opportunity to catch up with relatives and friends on this sad occasion. The cremation at Roucan Loch, though very emotional and hard, was beautifully administered. Our thanks to all of you who came to the funeral to see Leo 'on his way'. He was indeed a most special person and one of the bravest, most courageous and, as I'm sure all who were involved with him would agree, most challenging of characters. Our thanks to you all. We miss him terribly.
