I look up towards the heavens,
Amidst a sky of grey,
And ask the eternal question:
Why did you go away?

Heaven gained an angel,
Yet my life feels empty and devoid.
Memories flood through my mind,
A heart abandoned and destroyed.

My eyes have tired from crying,
I no longer have the tears,
Just a feeling of abandonment
That will last for many years.

And now our journey is over,
I guess I’ll never understand
Why you’re no longer with us,
Did God have this planned?

I take hope we will meet again;
Until that day, your name lives on.
My life will never be the same,
Simply now, you’re gone.

You will always be missed and never forgotten
