MargaretGARVEYMargaret Garvey, of Haslingden, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 10, aged 84 years. Margaret spent her working life at Rossendale General Hospital as a nurse where she was always a popular member of staff, over the years, Margaret made many good friends who remained with her following her retirement and together they have shared many wonderful weekends away. She spent over 25 years as a volunteer at Age UK working in the Haslingden shop. Always creative, Margaret loved to sew and knit and was a regular face at St Mary’s, Haslingden on a Friday evening joining in the flower arranging group. She was always immaculately turned out with matching outfits and she never had a hair out of place and she always looked forward to her weekly visit to her hair salon. Margaret loved a bargain and enjoyed visiting car-boots and antique sales. The devoted wife of the late Derek, loving and loved mum of Dean, Tracy, Darren and Tara, dear mother-in-law of Sue and Paul and a cherished nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margaret’s funeral service will be held at 11.40am on Monday, February 27, at Accrington Crematorium. All enquiries to Champ Funeral Services.
