It has been my pleasure and my privilege to have known Phil Gale ever since he and I first served as members of Bodmin Chamber of Commerce. He was also a regular visitor at my wife’s hotel in Bodmin, where he attended a number of Rotary meetings, and no matter where or why we met he was always a joy to spend time with. Phil's face, as depicted in the photograph opposite, sums up his character to a ‘T’ — it was impossible to be sad in his company. Farewell, Phil, you will be much missed in Chamber, by your fellow Rotarians, by all at the Museum and at the Westberry, and by myself. Rest in peace, re-united at last with your belovèd Sally.

Only a fairly recent acquaintance, Mr Gale serviced repaired and bought back to life for us 2 long case cottage clocks. His skill and horological knowledge was outstanding and since our first meeting early 2020 was always a welcome guest. We are so sad to hear of his passing RIP Mr Gale.
