AnnFORDPeacefully at Reuben Manor Care Home on February 7th 2026, Ann aged 82 years.
Above all, Ann was a caring, warm-hearted person, as reflected in her long and dedicated nursing career. She was among the first nurses to work on the maternity ward at North Tees Hospital when it opened in 1965. Later, Ann moved to South Africa with her husband Gordon, where they had three sons: Graham, Ian, and Sean. After spending more than ten years working as a bookkeeper, Ann returned to nursing in the late 1990s at Sunward Park Hospital, continuing there until she left South Africa in 2001. Upon returning to England, Ann resumed her nursing role at North Tees Hospital until retirement. In 2008, Ann became a proud grandmother to Emlynn. She and her beloved husband Gordon celebrated fifty years of marriage in 2018. Ann is survived by her son Ian; sister Linda; brothers Tom and Stuart; granddaughter Emlynn; sisters-in-law Anne and Carole; nieces Kirsty, Caitlin, and Sara; and nephews Adam and Thomas. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon and sons Sean and Graham.
Ann's service will be held at St Hilda's Chapel, Teesside Crematorium at 2.30pm on Thursday February 26th.
