MarilynFLETCHERI am deeply saddened to share that my lovely mum, Marilyn, passed away on 21.12.2025. We have spent the last few months enjoying valuable time, making many happy memories. Thank you to those of you who helped in this time with trips out, visits, messages, cards and gifts. They always bought a smile and helped to make mum feel loved and cherished. Perfect!
In keeping with her wishes, there will not be a formal funeral service. She chose a simple, private cremation, but we do not have a date for that as yet. It would be lovely to think that her friends will partake in an extra mince pie or cake over this festive period in her honour -we all know how much she loved her cake!
If you feel you would like to make a Charity donation then her main focus was Betley Cat rescue where she found the cat love of her life, Harry, who now lives with her granddaughter. Another option would of course be Dougie Mac, who took such good care of her or a hospice of your choice.
We intend to scatter her ashes at Rudyard Lake in Spring. After considerable hugging of trees, Mum chose the exact place a few months ago. The reservoir holds many happy memories with both friends and family. The exact spot is an oak tree between trees which are labelled 106 and 107. It would be wonderful to think that friends might find time to enjoy a walk there and to say hello to her.
