LeoFINNIt is with deep sadness that the Finn Family announce the death of Leo Finn, who died peacefully on 2nd February surrounded by his family.

A respected leader in the British banking sector, Leo was a highly regarded Chief Executive of Northern Rock, guiding the institution through its successful flotation in 1997. When he left in 2001 he went on to become Chairman of Newcastle College, Northern Recruitment Group, Northern Rock Foundation and also a Director at Bellway.

He was widely admired for his integrity, vision, character and the dedicated commitment he gave to North East businesses and charities over many decades.

Beyond his professional achievements, Leo was passionate about his rugby, opera, charities and first and foremost his family. He was the beloved husband of Alice, a devoted dad to Gabrielle, Kevin, Claire and Dominic, a proud grandad to Alex, Max, Ruby, Cerys, Lenny and Sam, brother to Ken and Maggie, father in law to Trevor, Corinne and Lucy and a friend to many.

His warmth, wisdom, friendship and humour will be missed by all who knew him.

A service to celebrate Leo's life will be announced at a later date.
