🌷 A Poem for Mum
I miss you in the mornings
when the world is still half‑asleep,
when the light is soft enough
that I can almost pretend
you’re just in the next room.
I miss the way your hugs
could quiet storms I never spoke aloud,
how your love didn’t need words
to find me,
to steady me,
to make me feel like home was a person.
Some days I reach for you
without thinking,
like muscle memory —
a reflex of the heart
that hasn’t learned
you’re not here to answer.
But you’re stitched into everything:
the way I care,
the way I try,
the way I love.
You’re the echo in my kindness,
the warmth in my laughter,
the courage in my quiet moments.
I carry you, Mum.
In every step,
in every breath,
in every part of me
that still believes in gentleness.
And if love leaves a light behind,
yours is the one
that never goes out.
🌷 I will always love you mum, until we are together again, Clark
