I only had one uncle,
Uncle Michael.
He was in and out my life a lot in my early years, my flip flop wearing, banjo playing uncle.
In my twenties and early thirties I called on Michael plenty.
He was an expert giver of 'putting my cap on straight' advice and there were many times that I needed it.
Michael was like a mentor to me as a young parent, he did it as a pal, he knew I needed it. He helped me into work and completely changed the direction of my life when he got me selling.
I learned so much from his generosity and will be forever in his debt.
He once said to me that men shouldn't really be allowed to make any serious decisions until they're in their fifties.
I'm in my fifties now and although I'm still not really sure if I'm ready, I think I understand what he meant.
I only had one uncle, an ace one.
Michael.
A one off,
I think I got pretty lucky
