Thank you, Father Malachy.


I have just discovered that Father Malachy passed away almost seven years ago and I am so very sorry.


I met Father Malachy in 1998 when he was priest at St Mary Star of the Sea in Leith, Edinburgh, and he had a profound effect on me.


I shall never forget the day that he and I were stranded at a cemetery as we waited for transport and it was only then, as we chatted, that I realised the very human side of priests!


Thank you Father Malachy, you will never be forgotten.
