Samuel FrancisFARRSam died peacefully, surrounded by his beloved family on Monday 15th December after only a single day in hospital.

Much loved husband to Wendy, adored father to Nicky and Helen, and mischievous and loving grandad to Jason and Lottie.

He will be hugely missed.

A thanksgiving and celebration of his life will be held at Combe Hay Church on Friday 16th January at 2pm, followed by tea and cake (obviously) at The Wheatsheaf.

Back when I was a young boy, you were my favourite newsagent, always with a friendly word and a joke. And then decades later you were a colleague at The Bath Chronicle, always with a friendly word and a joke. You brought light into everyone's world and you will be missed. Goodbye, Sam!
