On Tuesday, I will be saying "until we meet again" to one of the kindest, funniest and glamorous women I know, Norma Evans.
She had the best laugh ever.
Ever since the day I was born, Norma was there. Norma and George were close friends with my late wonderful mum, Helen Bayley and my Dad, Dennis. They were inseparable throughout my childhood.
The holidays we went on together, the Christmases we shared, the laughter and fun we all had. It was such a lovely time and I’ll treasure those memories forever.
Aged 13, I was christened and Norma and George became my godparents, and I’m so glad they were. I couldn't think of two more people I would rather be connected with in this world.
Norma loved me, and I truly loved and treasured her. I missed many years with Norma & George in my adult years but we reconnected after my mum passed away and these last couple of years together have been so special. It was like I was a little girl again - same house, same love and warmth, but with lots of tea and cake to share, stories to tell, laughter and chat.
George has the patience of a saint. Norma and I would chit-chat about anything and everything; make-up, clothes, my career, the royals, family and friends, but George loved seeing Norma happy.
My heart has taken a beating lately but it shattered a little bit more on Norma's passing and I know my wonderful mum will be with her, holding her hand. Norma will also be reunited with her Dad and Mum, whom she loved so much.
Rest my angel and know that you are in my heart always. God bless 🤍🕊️🤍🕊️
