Colin WilliamEVANSRetired Assistant Chief Constable South Wales Police Suddenly but peacefully, on Jan 24, at UHW, surrounded by his loving family, Colin Evans QPM, aged 80 years, was promoted to glory; a devoted and dearly loved husband of Margaret, cherished father to Christopher, Beverley, Jacqueline and Lindsey and their partners, proud Grandpa and Great-Grandpa to his five grandsons, five granddaughters and two great-granddaughters. Colin was awarded the Queen's Police Medal in recognition of his distinguished 34 year career with the Devon & Cornwall and South Wales Constabularies. A lifelong Salvationist, Colin was a keen bandsman and President of the City of Cardiff Melingriffith Brass Band. Highly respected, admired and a true gentleman, Colin was above all a loving family man and will be dearly missed. The funeral service will be held at Canton Salvation Army Citadel, Cowbridge Road East, Canton, Cardiff, CF5 1JG on Friday Feb 6 at 2.30pm, thereafter to the Wenallt Chapel, Thornhill Crematorium, Cardiff, for 4.15pm.
