Martin JohnELLISONSadly passed away at home on Friday 20th November 2020, aged 76. He will be sadly missed by Janet, his daughters, stepchildren, grandchildren and all his family and friends. His funeral service will be held at Lichfield and District Crematorium, Fradley on Wednesday 16th December at 10:30am with usual restrictions in place. Family flowers only preferred. Donations kindly given in memory of Martin will be sent to support the work of St Giles Hospice. Enquiries to Midcounties Co-operative Funeralcare, 1 Birmingham Road, Lichfield, Staffs. WS13 6HU. In memory of my brother and a lifetime of fond memories.
Also many thanks to the staff of the hospice who gave their support to him and his wife, Jan, in the final weeks.
Martin, your innings is finally over but the score book will always tell your story.

My husband Martin Ellison was the bravest man I knew and the gentlest man I knew. We had nearly23 years together, married for over 20 of them. We loved travelling, gardening, Looking after our many animals over the years but most of all we loved our combined family. Martins illness hit us so hard, nothing prepares you for the impact it has on your life but typical Martin faced it full on and with the help of our family we coped. The final weeks of Martins precious life were very painful for him but he never complained and he made me very proud and very humbled because he was so so brave. Goodbye my darling Martin and take my love with you until we are together again.

God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around you,
and whispered 'come to me'.
With tearful eyes we watched you,
we watched you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly,
we could not make you stay.
A golden heartstopped beating ,
hard working hands now rest .
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best .
