It is with great sadness we announce that Jim Egan, beloved husband to Catherine, sadly passed away on 13th December 2025. Jim was also a much loved father to Siobhan, Ghislaine, Dominick and Kieren. He will also be hugely missed by his extended family, and a wide range of friends and colleagues.
A funeral service will be held for Jim on 9th January 2026 at 11.30 a.m. at St Mary's Monastery, Hatton Road, Perth, followed by a burial at 13.00 p.m. in Scone Cemetery.
All family, friends and colleagues are welcome to attend either or both parts. Anyone wishing to send flowers is very welcome to do so (the family have a preference for local florist Victoria Bloom, 8 St Leonard's Bridge, Perth).

Dear Jim,
We have known you from being "simply" our son's father-in-law to being a very special friend.
Through the years, we have shared many incredible moments such as our children's wedding in Singapore, gardening the hard way in Neufvilles to Siobhan taking the oath at Brussels Courthouse .. and of course numerous Ceilidh in many different places (to which you would travel .. by all means !).
During dinners, either at home of some asian restaurants, we had plenty of opportunities to discuss endlessly, you were so knowledgeable !
Of course, some of our recurrent topics were our memories of the Open University, Languages (including Esperanto !), and so many others.
We'll really miss you, and so will all your family and friends do. We are sending them all our deepest condolences and wish them a lot of courage for their loss.
