In Loving Memory of My Grandad 🤍
After a hard few days of saying our goodbyes, you left us. After six long years of missing your beloved wife, I hope you’re finally reunited, just as you always deserved to be.

I still can’t believe you’re gone. To me, you were quite simply the strongest person I have ever known and made of steel. You battled dementia, cancer and more trips to the hospital than anyone should ever have to endure, and somehow you always kept going.

You have been the best Grandad I could ever have asked for. A true gentleman, with the biggest heart, and someone who taught me so much throughout my life. I will always treasure our family holidays with you, Nan, me dad and the boys where you would have us laughing with your catchphrases “we’re not bloody rockets” and telling me Nan “it’s not a storybook”. The memories we made together, and all those family meals where you always took such pride in paying. Watching WWE with you every second Thursday while we all eat our takeaway. Those little things meant so much and are memories I will carry with me forever.

I’ll miss your stories, your wisdom and, most of all, that cheeky laugh of yours. There was nobody quite like you, and there never will be. Ben was your little monkey and you still called him it now. Your love for Chris and support for him when he struggled was unmatched, you had no problem admitting he was your favourite 😂 and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

I feel so lucky to have had you as our Grandad, and although my heart is broken that you’re no longer here, I hope you’re finally at peace and back with me Nana Mavis. The two best people ever.

Thank you for everything, Grandad. For the memories, the lessons, the laughter and for being you. I’m glad I could be there at the end to tell you everything I’m saying now so you knew.

I love you more than words could ever say and I’m so grateful for you and everything you did. Until we meet again. 🤍
Rest peacefully now Grandad.
