I only found out recently and I am deeply saddened by the loss of Ken. We worked together for many years and shared many experiences together, his sense of humour and positivity got us through many situations. Although I hadn’t had much contact since he moved from South Africa he will be greatly missed. Rest in peace.

Ken, your kindness and witty sense of humour always brought a synergy that brought the room alive. A man - always on a mission to tap into a deep and meaningful chat and perfectly balanced with a playful spirit - we will always remember the fun times we shared travelling and visiting. I smile with the memories and will always cherish the time I had with you.
I always loved being around your gentle and warming acts of love and kindness for your much adored “lovie”.
Rest In Peace Kenny and go well 💗Sending love from Australia ~ Ruth and Leila xx

Our Significant Alien Encounter

Dear chief alien,

A passage of time, seemed like a moments' breath.
A lifetime so fleeting, through an expanse of great depth.
Great and numerous things, you did for so many.
Great and numerous things, they were for us and plenty.

A shared moment we will always treasure.
A walk down the aisle, a big day remembered with pleasure.
An honour and privilege, so fortunate we have been.
The kindest of souls, embraced us from deep within.
The warmth of your love etched in our hearts forever.
Your wisdom, your skills, all projects you endeavoured.
One day you decided I was your apprentice.
Eventually graduated, with memories and skills tremendous.
Non judgemental in life’s journey and choices.
Your name always spoken with love, laughter and rejoices.

Now your time has come to rest.
In peace, you go.
Into the freedom of wind and sunshine.
You go.
Into the dance of the stars and the planets.
You go.
Into the winds breath and the hands of the star maker.
You go.
We love you, we miss you Ken, forever more.

Forever in our hearts, your fellow aliens.

Dear Ken, if we’d had another chance, I would have said thank you. Thank you for the laughs, the support, the life changing opportunities. Thank you for the amazing memories from Southern Hemisphere summers, and mucking around with us kids in the Swedish snow in the middle of the night.

Thank you for being the rare kind of adult who made kids feel seen and heard, and all kinds of delight because you were so much fun.

Thank you for stepping in when we were heavy with grief. You lightened the load, you held space, you understood. And, so importantly, you made sure there was always ice cream.

Thank you for being patient when the last time we spoke on FaceTime, the kids turned on a filter that made us look like dragons and I didn’t know how to turn it off.

Thank you for sharing your story, which inspires us to be as strong as you. Your grit and resilience were matched by your kindness and signature sense of humour.

Thank you for loving and taking care of our beloved Lizzie (your lovie). It is hard to be so far away from her now, and I know you’ll be taking care of her still.

I have faith we will have another chance, but until then, go well, Ken. Rest In Peace and an abundance of love…and fish and chips and ice cream. There could never be another person quite like you, and you will be missed.

Dear Ken, your energy and zest for life will be forever missed!. Your influence on all your nieces and nephews was a real highlight for me, in your journey! You were always open and honest and could really engage with us all and the topics of conversations were far and wide. You will be always remembered with such fondness. We will never forget how much you did for Mum when Dad passed! Rest in Peace dear Ken and see you on the other side!
