Dr PhilipDUKEPhil Duke, former long standing Helsby Resident died peacefully in MHA Chapeldields, Frodsham. Phil worked for many years at Daresbury Laboratory, loving his work as a Physicist and enjoying the interactions with his many friends and colleagues, particularly the vigorous discussions held daily in the coffee room. Outside of work Phil was an active member of Helsby Methodist Church. He trained as a Methodist Lay Preacher and led Sunday services in many Methodist Chapels for over 50 years. He shared his passion for preaching with his wife Nell who sadly passed away as a result of cancer in January 2021. They are now happily reunited. The funeral will take place on Monday 6th June at Helsby Methodist Church at 12.00 noon followed by committal at Walton Lea Crematorium at 13.20. All are welcome to attend.
