DouglasDRINKWATERMr Douglas Drinkwater, of Rawtenstall, peacefully passed away at home with his family by his side on Monday, February 1, aged 85. Originally from Failsworth, Manchester, he worked at Ferranti Ltd in Oldham as an engineer. He met his wife Shirley of 62 years, moving to Rawtenstall in 1987, working as a self-employed heating engineer. Douglas was a keen musician and singer and was a long serving member of the Rossendale Male Voice Choir. His love of music has been a major part of family life and has been passed on to his children Carl, Mark and Alison, who he leaves behind along with his wife Shirley. Due to the current restrictions in place, a private family funeral service and committal will take place on Wednesday, February 17 at Accrington Crematorium. Family flowers only, with donations if desired in memory of Douglas to Rossendale Hospice c/o funeral director Caroline Holden-Dewhurst for Johnson, Durning and Woods Funeral Service, Haslingden.
