Eileen was a woman whose warmth and humour touched all who knew her. She had a way of turning the ordinary into something special, whether it was her daily request to have ITV on at 7pm, or the simple joy she found in a custard cream biscuit with a nice hot cup of tea. Eileen’s bubbly self and sense of humour filled every room, often making us laugh when we least expected it, once telling me to sleep in her room whenever I felt tired. She was honest and transparent in all things, speaking her mind with kindness and love. Her affectionate nature shone through in little gestures, like the way she would play with my hair: a simple act that carried so much tenderness. To have known Eileen was to know joy, comfort and a genuine love of life. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in our memories, in our laughter, and in the little everyday moments she made so bright.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, through the mercy of God, Rest In Peace.
Amen.
